Why Learners Give Up: Understanding Demotivation in Language Classrooms

This project investigates the reasons behind learner demotivation and dropout in second and foreign language classrooms. Through qualitative interviews and classroom observations, we seek to uncover the hidden barriers students face — from anxiety, lack of confidence, to curriculum-related issues. The ultimate aim is to design practical interventions that help teachers re-engage and motivate diverse learners, especially those who struggle silently.
