Social Cognition, Culture, and Language

Language is not just words — it’s a social tool. I would like to delve into how social cognition (understanding others’ intentions, emotions, and cultural cues) shapes language learning and use. I am especially interested in how multilingual individuals navigate social norms in different languages, and how cultural context influences communication strategies. This also ties to how neurodivergent individuals experience social aspects of language differently and what supports they need.
